The Toronto Blue Jays continue their road swing with a stop at Fenway Park to face the Boston Red Sox on Monday.
The Blue Jays have begun to heat up once again as they try to move up from third in the American League East. A 5-4 victory over the Yankees on Sunday has the Jays winning seven of nine with the pitching and hitting both contributing. Toronto stayed on a roll with a 5-4 decision at New York on Sunday. JA Happ allowed three runs including a pair of homers over 5.1 frames with a run scored on three relievers. Dioner Navarro drove in a 9th inning run to win it while Juan Francisco left the yard. Knuckleballer RA Dickey is tasked with keeping the Blue Jays hot in the series opener at Boston. Dickey isn't having a great season thus far with an 8-10 record and 4.04 ERA in 22 outings.

Where Boston goes over the next week or so will probably determine if the American League East title is within their grasp or not. My guess is management is thinking not after trading Jake Peavy and losing five in a row heading in to the finale at Tampa Bay. The Red Sox salvaged the finale' 3-2 with a solid effort on the mound carrying the day. Starter Allen Webster gave up both runs over 5.1 innings in place of Jake Peavy to improve to 1-0. The Red Sox managed six hits and four base on balls with David Ortiz supplying the offwnse with third inning three run homer. The Red Sox hand the ball to Clay Buchholz on Monday for his 4th start of 2014 versus the Blue Jays. Overall Buchholz has logged a 5-6 record with a 5.50 ERA covering 16 starts where Boston has gone 7-9.
If you look at the numbers of each pitcher you won't be running to the window to back either so I'll go with the better team at great odds...
