The Baltimore Orioles and the Los Angeles Angels face off on Wednesday at Camden Yards for game two of their series.
The Baltimore Orioles needed extra innings to get it done but they got the win on Tuesday against the Angels. Nick Markakis, Manny Machado, and Adam Jons all hit home runs as the Orioles scored seven runs on 10 hits in all. Starting pitcher Chris Tillman allowed six hits and five runs, three earned, while striking out six over 5.0 innings to not get a decision as Brian Matusz blew the save and Ryan Webb picked up the win to go to 3-1 for the season. For Wednesday’s game the Orioles start Kevin Gausman who has lost two of his last three decisions. For the season Gausman has allowed 51 hits and 20 earned runs while striking out 35 over 49 innings for a 4-3 record and a 3.67 ERA.

The Los Angeles Angels battled the whole way against the Orioles on Monday but it wasn’t enough for them to get the win. Josh Hamilton had three hits including a home run, Albert Pujols had three hits, and Howie Kendrick had two hits as the Angels scored six runs on 11 hits. Starting pitcher Jered Weaver allowed seven hits and six runs while striking out four over 5.0 innings to not factor in the decision as Cory Rasmus took the loss to fall to 2-1. For Wednesday’s game the Angels start Garret Richards who is coming off of his firs loss since May. For the season Richards has allowed 98 his and 40 earned runs while striking out 139 over 137.1 innings for an 11-3 record and a 2.62 ERA.
Baltimore is 6-2 in their last eight games, 8-2 in their last 10 home games, and 5-2 in Gausman’s last seven home starts. Los Angeles is 4-1 in their last five road games, 25-9 in their last 34 games, and 8-2 in Richards’ last 10 starts. Los Angeles is 2-7 in the last nine meetings of these two.
