The Chicago White Sox battle the rival Minnesota Twins at U.S. Cellular Field Friday night.

Minnesota has an outside shot at reaching .500 with a strong second half but more then likely have secured the role of spoiler for themselves. The offense has had some issues scoring while the pitching has done reasonably well the past few weeks although both came up short Thursday in a 6-3 loss at Kansas City. Starter Kevin Correia did his part with two run plated (one earned) over six frames before Caleb Thielbar and Ryan Pressly allowed four more in a combined inning pitched. The Twins received a solo homer from Daniel Santana and an RBI double from Kurt Suzuki. Minnesota turns to rookie Logan Darnell who faces the White Sox for the second time. Darnell lost his debut to Chicago by a 7-0 count with all seven runs scored on eleven hits over five innings of work.

The White Sox have decent chance of reaching .500 and beyond if they don't completely fold going forward. Chicago has things looking up for the future with the question being just how far with some quality players sprinkled throughout the roster. Chicago took another positive step Thursday in a 7-4 win at Detroit behind solid relief pitching and plenty of offense. Starter John Danks gave up all four runs including a pair of homers through five frames with three relievers holding the Detroit attack off the board. The bats pounded out 16 hits with Adam Eaton driving in two with a pair of runs scored. The White Sox turn to their ace Chris Sale to get them past Minnesota and a step closer to the .500 mark. Sale has enjoyed an outstanding 2014 thus far with a 10-1 record and 1.88 ERA over 12 starts.

This is a rematch from a week ago except this one is at U.S. Cellular but I hope the results are the same. Right or wrong the RL seems to be the only way to go here but I don't know if there is any value...
