The Pittsburgh Pirates and Arizona Diamondbacks clash in game two of their series at Chase Field.

If the Pirates have any thoughts of chasing down Milwaukee in the National League Central they can't win a few and then lose a few. That means building on the momentum of Friday's huge late inning rally would be a good thing. Eight runs in the final two innings capped off a comeback from a 4-0 deficit and got starter Edinson Volquez off the hook. Volquez was charged with all four runs (three earned) over 5.2 frames. The bats pounded out 13 hits with Pedro Alvarez and Travis Snider each driving in a pair of runs. Vance Worley toes the rubber against the Diamondbacks in the second game of their series. Worley is coming off one of the best outings of his career in a 5-0 victory at San Francisco where he tossed a five hit complete game.

The Diamondbacks have called it a season with the trade of several starters as they begin to look to the future which they hope is as soon as 2015. The Snakes 'future' didn't begin very well in the series opener in a game that appeared firmly in control until the pen suffered a late meltdown. Vidal Nuno cruised through six frames with a run allowed before Randall Delgado gave up three in the 8th and Bo Schultz allowed five in the 9th. The Diamondbacks totaled eight hits and walked twice with Ender Inciarte clubbing a three run homer to cap off a four run 5th inning. The Diamondbacks send Chase Anderson to the bump for Saturday's match up with the Pirates. Anderson has been outstanding in his last three where he has gone 1-0 with a 1.89 ERA.

I don't really believe in momentum in baseball as much as I do in other sports but if I did the Pirates should have it. I am not a big Worley fan but I am backing the better team although I'm not comfortable with this...
