The San Francisco Giants outhit the Mets on Saturday but couldn’t get runs as they took a loss. Brandon belt had two hits and Buster Posey and Pablo Sandoval each had hits as the Giants scored two runs on six hits. Starting pitcher Jake Peavy allowed four hits and four runs while striking out four over 7.0 innings to fall to 0-2 since being traded to the Giants. For Sunday’s game the Giants start Madison Bumgarner who lost last time out after putting together three consecutive wins. For the season Bumgarner has allowed 142 hits an 55 earned runs while striking out 143 over 145 innings for a 12-8 record and a 3.41 ERA.
New York is 10-3 in their last 13 home games, 7-14 against the NL West, and 5-2 in Colon’s last seven home starts. San Francisco is 4-2 in their last six road games, 2-7 in their last nine games, and 5-1 in Bumgarner’s last six stats. San Francisco is 5-2 in their last seven games in New York.
This should be a good one but the Giants have outhit the Mets in both games and I expect them to do it again here and for that to be the difference.
