The Los Angeles Angels continue host the rival Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday in interleague action.
The Dodgers have been enjoying life at the top of the National League West but things haven't been going their way over the last week with the offense having some scoring woes. Clayton Kershaw 'struggled' with a whopping three runs plated on seven hits over seven innings but received a no decision when Brian Wilson served up a solo homer that knotted the score at 4-4. Juan Uribe was the offensive star with a 2-4 night with a homer and three RBI's while scoring the winning run in the 9th on an error. A struggling Dan Haren hopes to right the ship against the dangerous bats of the Angels. Haren has given up 26 runs on 36 hits over 19.1 innings over six starts with the Dodgers losing each.

The Angels have been playing at such a high level over an extended period of time I am waiting for things to begin to go south. Despite losing to the Dodgers on Tuesday the Angels played well and were one of the few teams to have hit Clayton Kershaw. Unfortunately Hector Santiago couldn't hold the LAD at bay with four runs allowed (three earned) on five hits and a trio of bases on balls through 5.1 frames with Kevin Jepsen taking the loss with a run plated in the 9th. Albert Pujols homered and drove in a pair while Chris Iannetta doubled in two more. The Angels give Matt Shoemaker Wednesday's start for his first career match up with the Dodgers. Overall Shoemaker has been a solid member of the rotation with a 9-3 record and ERA just north of four.
The Angels almost pulled one out against Kershaw so one would think they would be ble to hit Haren. It doesn't always work out that way but I'm hoping it does...
