The Toronto Blue Jays visit Safeco Field where the Seattle Mariners await on Tuesday night.
The Blue Jays have snatched second place away from the Yankees in the American League East but if they expect to hold on to 2nd and make a run at the Orioles a prolonged hot streak is needed. The hot streak will have to wait another day after an 11-1 defeat at Seattle in the series opener. Drew Hutchison absorbed the loss with six runs scored over 5.2 frames with Brad Mills charged with five runs in 2.1 innings. The Jays mustered three hits withJose Bautista accounting for the scoring with his 23rd homer. Left hander JA Happ looks to continue his recent hot streak when he takes the bump at Seattle. Happ is 0-1 in his last three appearances despite a 2.66 ERA over 20.1 innings pitched.

The Mariners are getting both their arms and bats on the same page over the past few weeks and the result was wins in seven of ten heading in to Monday's match up. The M's are right in the middle of the Wild Card race and stayed in the middle after Monday's big win. Felix Hernandez was business as usual with a solo homer allowed over seven frames to pick up the win. The offense posted ten hits and walked five times with Robinson Cano, Dustin Ackley, Mike Zunino and Brad Miller each knocking in two runs. The Mariners turn to veteran Chris Young to control the explosive offense of the Blue Jays. Young is one reason the Mariners are in the Wild Card conversation with a 10-6 record and 3.27 ERA.
Happ is probably the better choice on the mound but Seattle is hot right now and I would not like to go against them. I still urge caution because I'm not a young fan...
