The Cincinnati Reds hope to begin a long hot streak beginning with the Colorado Rockies on Saturday night.
The Cincinnati Reds are in dire need of a long hot streak which means the offense and pitching have got to start producing soon. The Reds are simply trying to get above .500 and stay there and took a positive step with a 3-2 win in the series opener at Coors Field. Johnny Cueto showed why he is an ace with both runs scored over eight innings to get the win. The offense barely did enough despite eleven hits with Kristopher Negron, Jay Bruce and Ramon Santiago driving in runs. Dylan Axelrod makes his first for the Cincinnati Reds with his call up from Triple A Louisville. Axelrod takes the spot of injured Homer Bailey in the rotation after going 2-1 with a 3.06 ERA in five outings at Louisville.

The Colorado Rockies are obviously are not going anywhere in the National League West or the postseason so the goal is to play spoiler and make sure other teams suffer the same fate. The Rockies were almost the spoiler Friday with a pitcher by commitee contest that produced fantastic results until the 9th where Adam Ottavino was charged with the loss with a run plated to break a 2-2 tie. The offense mustered six hits and three walks with Nolan Arenado clubbing his 12th long ball while Corey Dickerson doubled in another. Jordan Lyles toes the rubber for the Colorado Rockies in game two versus the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday. Lyles has thrown the ball well with a 6-1 record and 3.70 ERA through 80.1 innings pitched.
No line out on this but I believe the pitching advantage lies with the Rockies. I don't have a great feel for this one but lean to Colorado but under no circumstances would I play them as a fave asthe value would be on the Reds...
