The Detroit Tigers head to Target Field to face the Minnesota Twins in the series opener on Friday.
The Detroit Tigers are in unfamiliar territory as they are chasing Kansas City in the American League Central and are accustomed to being chased. The Tigers dropped another 1/2 game in the standing following a 1-0 loss at Tampa Bay on Thursday. David Price was a tough luck loser with an unearned run plated in the first on a triple for the only hit allowed in an eight inning complete game. The bats were silenced on four hits with Eugenio Suarez going 2-3. Lefty Robbie Ray makes his 6th start of the season versus the Minnesota Twins. Ray has not found the groove as of yet with a 1-3 record and a 5.66 ERA with 32 hits allowed over 25.1 innings.

The Minnesota Twins are looking to finish the regular season strong as they are basically finishing out the string at this point. Things haven't been going well lately with defeats in five of six before coming up with a 4-1 win over the visiting Indians on Thursday afternoon. Starter Phil Hughes has had some big performances with the lone run scored on a solo homer through seven innings of work. Kenny Vargas clubbed his 4th and scored twice with Trevor Plouffe doubling in two more. Minnesota sends newcomer Tom Milone out to the hill for his 3rd start in a Twins uniform. Milone is coming in off his worse outing of 2014 with seven runs plated in 1.1 innings of a 12-6 loss to Kansas City.
I don't know what to expect from Ray so I look to Milone who has a huge edge in experience. The problem with this thinking is Detroit is the better club...
