The Colorado Rockies hope to leave AT&T Park with a win over the San Francisco Giants.
The Colorado Rockies look to throw a Monkey Wrench in to the postseason plans of San Francisco who still has a good shot of winning the NL West. No Monkey Wrench was thrown Wednesday in a 4-2 loss at AT&T Park thanks to Juan Nicasio who served up a two run walkoff homer in the 9th. Franklin Morales threw the ball well with a run scored over six frames but his offense mustered just a solo homer by Corey Dickerson and RBI double from Justin Morneau. The Rockies go with Jordan Lyles on the bump who has yet to pitch against the San Francisco Giants this season. Lyles has been scrambling a bit as of late with six consecutive outings without a quality start.

The San Francisco Giants are hoping to recapture the early season magic that had the team looking like the best team in baseball. The Giants have since cooled off since their hot start and are fighting for survival right now. Wednesday's win was huge with the Dodgers also winning. Tim Hudson gave up a run through eight frames before Santiago Casilla blew the save with a run plated in the 9th and then ironically was the winner when Buster Posey launched a walkoff two run bomb for his third RBI of the night. Yusmeiro Petit makes a spot star for the Giants and his first of the season versus the Colorado Rockies. Overall Petit is 3-3 with 3.59 ERA but when he gets hit he has been known to give up runs in bunches.
I see the pitching match up and see that Lyles has struggled in this match up while Petit can struggle against anybody. I'm going home team here but won't lay juice especially after watching pathetic relief pitching blow Wednesday's game for both teams...
