The Colorado Rockies continue their road swing with a stop at Chase Field to battle the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Colorado Rockies probably can't wait for the season to end and get ready for 2015 and their record tells us why. Just too many injuries combining with poor play to do this team in is what 2014 has been. The Rockies fell to San Francisco on Wednesday by a 4-1 count as the offense struggled to get going once again. Starter Jordan Lyles gave up three runs over six inning to fall to 6-2 on the year while Charlie Blackmon drove in Jackson Williams for the only run. Christian Bergman makes his 5th start of the season when he takes the ball versus the Arizona Diamondbacks. Bergman picked his first career win last time out in 7-4 win over Miami with four runs allowed in 6.1 innings.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have been eliminated from the postseason for months but many expected the team to at least be competitive over the second half of the season and that hasn't been the case. The Diamondbacks have dropped eight of ten after falling to Clayton Kershaw and the Dodgers 3-1 on Wednesday night. Starter Wade Miley served up three run homer through six innings which was too much with Kershaw on the hill. The Arizona bats totaled six hits with Alfredo Marte scoring an unearned run. Josh Collmenter toes the rubber Friday looking for consecutive victories when he opposes the Colorado Rockies. Collmenter allowed an unearned run over 8.1 frames in a 5-1 decision versus San Diego.
There has been nothing positive to go on for either team so it's tough to find an angle to exploit here. I'll back Collmenter who has done a decent job...
