The Los Angeles Dodgers need to get back on the winning track beginnig Sunday versus the San Diego Padres.
The Los Angeles Dodgers aren't playing badly but things would be a whole lot better and easier if the offense produced consistently. The lack of scoring cost the Dodgers in a 2-1, ten inning defeat which was twice as painful with San Francisco winning. A great performance on the mound went for naught with Zack Greinke giving up a lone run over eight frames with the loss going to Jamey Wright. The offense had some chances with eight hits with Adrian Gonzalez cracking his 19th bomb. Hyun-Jin Ryu is scheduled to be on the mound Sunday versus the San Diego Padres. Ryu is one of the reasons the Dodgers are holding to the NL East lead with a 13-6 record and 3.28 ERA.

Even though the San Diego Padres have been winning it's been because of their pitching because the bats haven't been crushing the ball. The Padres offense struggled once again but the work on the mound rose to the occasion in Saturday's victory. Ian Kennedy allowed a solo bomb while whiffing eight through seven innings of work. San Diego posted seven hits and a trio of bases on balls with Alexi Amarista and and Kennedy knocking in runs. Left hander Eric Stults toes the rubber Sunday against the Los Angeles Dodgers for the third time in 2014. Overall Stults has gone 6-14 with a 4.63 ERA covering 26 outings where the Padres are 10-16.
If the Dodgers don't find some scoring it is my belief that their stay in the postseason won't be long. Perhaps Ryu can get the win here but I won't bet them until they show me some offense...
