The Detroit Tigers pay a visit to Progressive Field to tangle with the rival Cleveland Indians.
Generally the Detroit Tigers are in a position to pull away from the pack in the AL Central but they are chasing Kansas City and trying to fend off the Indians. The Tigers suffered a setback in their playoff push in a 6-2 loss to the White Sox Sunday. Rick Porcello didn't get any help from his offense or defense only three of the six runs allowed being earned. Ian Kinsler and Victor Martinez recorded RBI's but the bats struggled with only six hits. Left hander David Price toes the rubber in Monday's tilt with the Cleveland Indians. Price is 12-10 on the season with a 3.32 ERA and a fantastic 1.06 WHIP with 185 hits allowed over 203+ innings of work.

The Cleveland Indians have positioned themselves to make a run in the American League Central and if they are to be a serious threat, losing streaks of any length have to be avoided. The Indians missed a chance to pick up a crucial game in the standings with a blown save sending the game to extras while a 4-2 lead in the 10th was nullified by rain with the game suspended. TJ House appeared to be headed for the win with a run plated on five hits through seven innings before Cody Allen served up a solo homer to blow the save. Lonnie Chisenhall ripped a PH, two run single in the 10th before weather forced suspension of the game. The Indians turn to Corey Kluber on the hill for th 4th meeting of the season against the Detroit Tigers. Kluber has gone 13-8 with a 2.52 ERA covering 26 outings where the indians are 17-11.
I generally like to avoid teams playing on Sunday night who travel the next day but the Indians are at home. I still don't like it but...
