The St Louis Cardinals and Milwaukee Brewers continue their NL Central battle on Saturday.
The St Louis Cardinals have been a fixture at the top of the NL Central and are once again in 2014. A six game winning streak came to an end in a 6-2 defeat at Miller Park on Friday with not much positive coming from any area. John Lackey struggled with all six runs plated on nine hits over six frames to fall to 2-2 with St Louis. The Redbirds totaled nine hits with Jhonny Peralta slugging his 19th bomb while Oscar Taveras singled in a run. Lance Lynn hopes to keep up his great work on the hill when he squares off with the Milwaukee Brewers. Lynn has been a pleasant surprise with a 14-8 record with a 2.58 ERA in 28 outings.

The Milwaukee Brewers have been the team to beat in the National League Central but they have been in a slow slide while the Cardinals have been hot and the result is second place. The Brewers picked up a crucial victory over St Louis which put an end to the bleeding for at least a night. Mike Fiers continued to pitch well with both runs scored on seven hits through 6.2 innings to up his record to 5-2. The Brew Crew did plenty of damage on ten hits with Khris Davis slugging a two run homer with Scooter Gennett knocking in three runs and scoring. The Brewers need a strong effort on the hill from Lyle Lohse who faces the St Louis Cardinals for the third time in 2014. Lohse needs to rebound from a 15-5 loss at San Francisco where he gave up seven runs in 5.2 frames.
I don't see a decisive advantage for either side here so I'm looking at the better odds on a hot St Louis squad...
