The Cincinnati Reds conclude their series with the New York Mets at Great American Ball Park.
The New York Mets have been on fire the past few weeks and are making a run at .500 and third in the NL East. Their run took a step back in Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Cincinnati. The offense never got going which made a tough luck loser of Dillon Gee served up a pair of solo jacks over seven frames to fall to 6-7. The Mets mustered seven hits and four free passes with Dilson Herera knocking in Travis d'Arnaud with the only run. The Mets turn to Zack Wheeler on the bump who has never pitched against the Cincinnati Reds. Wheeler has been a solid option on the mound but is just 9-9 in 28 outings with a 3.45 ERA.

The Cincinnati Reds time to make a run at the National League Central has come and gone as they currently sit 4th in the division with defeats in six of seven heading in to Saturday. Cincinnati squeezed past the Mets Saturday to get starter Johnny Cueto a well deserved win. Cueto gave up a run through seven innings while striking out eight to improve to 17-8. The offense totaled seven hits with Todd Frazier and Chris Heisey connecting on solo homers. Veteran Mat Latos toes the rubber for the first time versus the visiting New York Mets on Sunday. In 15 starts in 2014 Latos has logged a 5-4 record with a 3.46 ERA and a 1.14 WHIP over 96 innings.
I don't have a great feel for this one but I sometimes struggle when Wheeler is on the mound. I'll back the visitors only because of the great odds...
