The Los Angeles Angels look to stay on a roll when the Houston Astros come to town on Friday night.

The Houston Astros are red hot having won eight of ten with six of those wins coming against the Angels, Oakland and Seattle so they have been the very definition of spoiler. The Astros picked up an unexpected 5-2 victory at Seattle on Wednesday behind rookie Nicholas Tropeano who gave up both runs over five innings to win his major league debut. The Astros offense posted ten hits and walked twice with Max Stassi knocking in a pair of runs and scoring. Houston turns to Brett Oberholtzer for Friday's start versus the dangerous offense of the Los Angeles Anges. Oberholtzer is coming off of a 4-3 win over the A's where he allowed all three runs over 6.1 frames.

Los Angeles Angels vs. Houston Astros Pick-Odds-Prediction - 9/12/14

The Los Angeles Angels are as hot as any team in the game with an offense that has been on fire over the past week or so. The Angels stayed hot with a 7-3 decision at Texas on Thursday with contributions from all areas. The pitching was reliever by committee with eight hurlers getting the job done. The offense came up big on seven hits and a trio of bases on balls with Erick Aybar going deep and driving in two while scoring twice with David Freese and Grant Green plating two more each. Left hander CJ Wilson takes the hill for 5th time against the Houston Astros in game one of their series. Wilson is trying to build on a 14-4 win at Minnesota with three runs plated in 6.1 innings pitched.

Wilson has been absolutely awful in this match up and has been simply bad at times in general. I could simply say take the better team and forget about it but the numbers say it's not that cut and dry...
