The Cleveland Indians look to keep their slim postseason hopes alive when they visit the Houston Astros on Monday.
The Cleveland Indians season has come down to winning right now or be prepared to watch the postseason on television. The Indians postseason hopes took a hit with a 6-4 defeat for loss number three in a row. Trevor Bauer gave up a pair of runs (one earned) with Bryan Shaw giving up two more and blowing the save while CC Lee was charged with two more runs. The Tribe had plenty of runners on ten hits and five walks with Carlos Santana doubling in two runs. The Indians turn to Zach McAllister for his first start since the end of July when he faces the Houston Astros for the first time in 2014. In 14 starts McAllister has gone 3-6 with an ERA just south of six.

The Houston Astros were one of the hottest teams in the American League West before losing twice versus the Angels before salvaging the final game of that series with a 6-1 win in the finale' on Sunday. Starter Dallas Keuchel dominated a strong Angels lineup with a run scored on three hits over seven frames to get the win. The Astros pounded out 12 hits and walked seven times with Gregorio Petit going deep and driving in three while Robbie Grossman went 2-4 with a pair of RBI's with Carlos Corporan scoring twice. The Astros go with Collin McHugh on the bump who opposes the Cleveland Indians for the second time. McHugh has won three in a row with four runs plated on 14 hits covering 22.2 innings.
Even if the Indians go on a season ending hot streak they nee loads of help to have a shot at the playoffs and facing a hot Houston club doesn't help...
