The Oakland Athletics hope to keep the wins coming in with the Texas Rangers in town.
The Texas Rangers swept the Atlanta Braves over the weekend and likely ended their postseason dreams and are now trying to do the same thing to Oakland. The Rangers dealt the A's a 6-3 setback on Tuesday with Nick Tepesch allowing all three runs on five hits over six frames. Texas pounded out 12 hits with Jake Smolinski smacking a two run homer while Ryan Rua scored twice and Adrian Beltre logged three hits. Left hander Derek Holland makes his 4th start of the season when he faces the dangerous Oakland Athletics. In three outings Holland has gone 1-0 with a 0.86 ERA and 0.95 WHIP over 21 innings.

The Oakland Athletics held on to second place in the American League West by taking two of three from the Mariners but need to keep it going to hold on their spot. Nothing went well for the Athletics Tuesday with Scott Kazmir allowed six runs (four earned) on nine hits through 4.1 innings to absorb the loss. The bats posted six hits and a pair of base on balls with Brandon Moss cracking his 25th long ball and scoring twice with Josh Reddick and Derek Norris rapping RBI hits. Jeff Samardzija will be on the bump to oppose the Texas Rangers for the first time in his career. Since joining the Athletics, Samardzija has gone 4-5 with a 3.41 ERA with a 0.97 WHIP.
The Rangers are often overlooked because of their record so they are often bet against. Oakland is always a big favorite and have struggled so for me it's the big odds or walk away...
