The Minnesota Twins welcome the Cleveland Indians to Target Field in AL Central action.
The Cleveland Indians are looking for a strong end to 2014 with an eye to 2015 as the breakthrough the team had hoped for this season didn't materialize. That goal took a step back in Friday's 5-4, ten inning defeat at Target Field. Starter Trevor Bauer gave up three runs over six frames before Cody Allen blew the save with a run plated in the 9th with Kyle Crockett allowing the winner in the 10th. Michael Brantley paced an eleven hit attack with a solo jack while four drove in runs and four scored. The Indians send Trevor House to the bump to face the Minnesota Twins for the 4th time in 2014. House opposes the Twins for the second straight time after beating them 2-0 over seven innings scoreless frames.

The Minnesota Twins have been an afterthought for quite some time regarding the postseason but they have showed moments of improvement here and there. Minnesota rallied from a 4-2 deficit to edge the visiting Indians Friday night and get starter Phil Hughes off the hook. Hughes gave up all four runs on ten hits through seven innings with four relievers keepingg the Tribe off the scoreboard. Oswaldo Arcia led the offense on a 3-4 night with a homer and two RBI's while Kennys Vargas launched a solo bomb. Minnesota gives Saturday's game two start to Trevor May faces the Indians in back to back starts. May tossed his best game in a 4-3 defeat to the Tribe with three runs plated over six innings.
I think we saw how dangerous Minnesota can be and especially so at the plate but I think Cleveland has the advantage here and evens the series...
