The Los Angeles Angels look to end their series with the Texas Rangers with a victory Sunday.
The Texas Rangers have been one of the hottest teams in the game although it's obviously way to late to make a difference. The hot streak ended at seven games following Saturday's 8-5 defeat as their late rally fell short. Colby Lewis was hit hard with all eight runs plated on nine hits including three homers over five frames to absorb the defeat. The Rangers produced eight hits with Adrian Beltre doubling three times and knocking in two. Nick Tepesch seeks back to back victories when he takes the hill versus the Los Angeles Angels Sunday. Tepesch is coming off a 6-3 decision versus Oakland with one earned run scored over six frames.

The Los Angeles Angels are cruising in to the final days of the regular season as American League West and probably want to get their rotation set up for the postseason. The Angels got back in the win column Saturday behind solid starting pitching and some big offense. Jered Weaver gave up three runs on five hits through seven innings while whiffing seven. The offense pounded out 13 hits with Mike Trout, Albert Pujols and David Freese going deep and driving in five. The Angels go with Cory Rasmus on the bump versus the Texas Rangers on Sunday afternoon. Rasmus threw four scoreless innings in a 13-2 defeat at the hands of the Mariners but did not get a decision.
This looks like another pitching by committee contest for the Angels with Rasmus going as far as he can. I can't lay the juice here so maybe the bats stay hot here and the runs flow...
