The Los Angeles Dodgers look to take a step towards locking up the West with a win over the San Francisco Giants.
The San Francisco Giants have to string the wins together and get help as in the Dodgers losing to capture the West or it's the Wild Card for them. The division title got a whole lot tougher to capture after a 4-2 loss at Los Angeles on Tuesday. Madison Bumgarner allowed all four runs on three homers and the offense couldn't counter. Bumgarner was the lone source of scoring for the Giants with a two run bomb in the third that scored Juan Perez. Veteran Tim Hudson toes the rubber hoping to rebound from his recent struggles as he opposes the Los Angeles Dodgers for the third time. In his last three trips to the hill Hudson has gone 0-3 with a 10.32 ERA.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are in the driver's seat as far as winning the National League West simply because they own the lead in the division and control their own fate. The Dodgers moved a step closer to wrappping up the division behind the long ball and a strong performance on the bump from Zack Greinke. Greinke picked up the win with both runs plated on six hits through eight innings. Matt Kemp slugged a two run homer and Justin Turner cracked a pair of solo shots to supply the scoring. Soon to be National League Cy Young award winner Clayton Kershaw takes the ball looking to pick up his 21st win. Kershaw is 21-3 with a 1.80 ERA and 0.86 WHIP covering 26 outings where the team is 22-4.
