Tampa Bay will turn to righty Alex Cobb in Sunday’s finale as the Rays look to end on a high note. Cobb enters this game with a WHIP of 1.12 and ERA of 2.75 while posting a 10-8 record across 26 starts. Cobb has a 2.92 road ERA over 13 starts and has not faced the Indians this season.
The Cleveland Indians won’t be headed to the postseason for a second straight year, but after selling at the trade deadline it was a strong finish to the season to be sitting seven games above .500. Michael Brantley will look to finish an efficient season at the plate batting .327 with 20 HRs and 90 RBIs on the year and catcher Carlos Santana will look to add to his 27 home run total. The Indians are 47-33 at home on the season.
Cleveland will send 24 year old righty Danny Salazar to the mound on Sunday for his 21st start of the season. Salazar enters this contest with a WHIP of 1.38 and ERA of 4.25 while posting a 6-8 record on mixed results. Salazar has been has been worse both at home and in day games this year while not having faced the Rays this season.
There have been three total runs of offense in two games in this series which makes the under a logical option here.
