The Colorado Rockies and Los Angeles Angels end the regular season on Sunday afternoon.
The Colorado Rockies were one of the hotter teams in the game until a slowdown over the last several days. With the season ending Sunday I see several similarities between this year and 2013. Injuries to some of the same players really hurt while the arms and bats weren't nearly consistent enough. The bottom line for this team is they need runs for the arms on this team because the work on the mound can not carry this team. Christian Bergman gets the call to the mound in the season finale' against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Bergman is 3-4 with a 5.29 ERA with a 1.50 WHIP covering nine outings with the team going 4-5.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have been playing well and are likely peeking ahead to the playoffs for the second straight year. The Dodgers stormed to the National League West title in 2013 and were largely unopposed as the only team in the division with a winning record. In 2014 San Francisco gave them a run for their money but LA had a little more hitting and pitching then the Giants. Perhaps having to work much harder to win the division this year as opposed to last will make the Dodgers a better postseason squad. Zack Greinke toes the rubber in the final game of 2014 against the Colorado Rockies on Sunday. Grenke is 16-8 in 2014 with a 2.74 ERA and has gone 2-0 with a 2.84 ERA over his last three trips to the hill.
Nothing at stake makes any wager more risky in my view. Gun to my head and I'll go with the Dodgers...
