The New York Mets and the Houston Astros face off on Sunday at Citi Field as they close out their 2-14 MLB seasons.
The New York Mets looked to be on their way to another loss on Saturday but they battled back for the win in the ninth inning. Lucas Duda hit a home run and Eric Young and Ruben Tejada each had hits as the Mets sored four runs on two hits. Starting pitcher Rafael Montero allowed six hits and a run while striking out six over 5.1 innings o not get the decision as Jenry Mejia earned the win. For Sunday’s game the Mets start Bartolo Colon who is 14-13 with a 4.08 ERA this season and is 1-2 in his last three starts.

The Houston Astros looked to be on their way to a win on Saturday but they let it get away and ended up taking the loss. Dexter Fowler and Marwen Gonzalez each had two hits and Jason Castro had a hit as the Astros scored one run on seven hits. Starting pitcher Samuel Deduno allowed one hi and struck out four over 4.0 innings as it was Tony Sipp who blew the save and took the loss. For Sunday’s game the Astros start Nicholas Tropeano who is 1-2 with a 3.78 ERA in three starts this season.
New York is 10-2 as an interleague favorite, 14-5 as a home favorite, and 2-5 in their last seven home games. Houston is 25-58 in their last 83 interleague games, 3-8 in their last 11 games, and 1-7 in their last eight road games. Houston is 11-24 in their last 35 games in New York.
This could be Colon’s last go round so expect him to leave it all on the field and I like the Mets here.
