The Texas Rangers conclude their season when they take the field with West rival the Oakland Athletics.

The Oakland Athletics survived a long slowdown to capture a Wild Card and hope to win their last game for a bit of momentum. There was no momentum Saturday as a late rally fell short in a 5-4 defeat at Texas. Jeff Samardzija was tagged for all five runs on eight hits including a pair of homers over seven frames while whiffing nine. The A's hammered out 14 hits with Josh Donaldson going yard with Josh Reddick and Jed Lowrie rapping RBI hits. Sonny Gray gets the start on Sunday when the A's end their season at the Texas Rangers. Gray has logged a 13-10 record wityh a 3.21 ERA over 32 outings.

Texas Rangers vs. Oakland Athletics Pick-Odds-Prediction - 9/28/14

The Texas Rangers have been white hot for weeks and their fans are probably wondering where this team was all season. The Rangers used eight pitchers Saturday with Scott Baker allowing a pair of runs through four innings with Neal Cotts allowing two. The Rangers stayed hot at the plate with nine hits with Robinson Chirinos launching a two run homer with Jake Smolinski connecting on his third bomb. Nicholas Martinez looks to carry a strong finish to the year in to the offseason. Martinez is 5-11 overall but is 2-1 with a 1.96 ERA over his last three starts.

I'm simply not laying big chalk with nothing at stake with questionable lineups so take this for what it's worth...
