The Detroit Tigers could not maintain an early lead and found themselves returning home in an 0-2 hole in the ALDS following Friday's defeat. Justin Verlander was charged with three runs on six hits through five innings but did not get a decision with Joba Chamberlain was charged with three runs in 1/3 of an inning before Joakim Soria allowed a run over 2/3 of a frame to get the loss. JD Martinez cracked a three run homer and Nick Castellanos went solo while Victor Martinez knocked in two more. The Tigers send lefty David Price to the bump hoping to keep the season alive against the Baltimore Orioles. Price is 15-12 on the season with a 3.26 ERA covering 34 outings split between Tampa Bay and Detroit.
I am on the fence here and we shall see whether picking up Price was worth it. Maybe if the pen can survive the O's offense...
