The Washington Nationals look to even their NLDS with the San Francisco Giants at AT&T Park on Tuesday.
The Washington Nationals extended their season for one more day with a 4-1 victory at AT&T Park on Monday night. The goal of course is to win again on Tuesday and keep their season alive which might happen if they can get another pitching performance as we saw from Doug Fister. Fister saved the Nats season with a four hit shutout over seven frames to get the win. The offense totaled seven hits with Bryce Harper slugging a solo homer while Asdrubal Cabrera singled in a run. Left hander Gio Gonzalez takes the ball against the San Francisco Giants Tuesday hoping to even the NLDS. On the season Gonzalez has gone 10-10 with a 3.57 ERA and 1.20 WHIP over 27 starts.

The San Francisco Giants had a perfect opportunity to sweep Washington on Monday but instead left the door open for the Nats who cut their deficit to 2-1. Even ace Madison Bumgarner couldn't get the job done with three runs plated (two earned) on six hits through seven innings of work to absorb the loss. That might have been a winning effort but the bats mustered just six hits with Brandon Crawford driving in the lone run in the 9th inning. The Giants turn to Ryan Vogelsong for the game four start versus the Washington Nationals on Tuesday. Vogelsong has been all over the map in 2014 with an 8-13 record and ERA of four in 32 starts.
No line out but I believe Gonzalez has the advantage on the bump over Vogelsong. I lean the to the Nationals until I see the line so please check back...
