The Oakland A’s and the Texas Rangers face off on Wednesday in game three of their season opening MLB AL West series.

The Oakland A’s got their season started with a win on Monday but they weren’t as fortunate on Tuesday falling to the Rangers. San Fuld had two hits and Billy Butler and Ike Davis each had hits as the A’s scored one run on five hits. Starting pitcher Jesse Hahn allowed seven hits and three runs while striking out three over 7.0 innings to take the loss. For Wednesday’s game the A’s start Scott Kazmir who was 15-9 wit a 3.55 ERA last season striking out 164 over 190.1 innings.

A's vs. Rangers - 4/8/15 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Texas Rangers got their first win of the season on Tuesday downing the A’s in Oakland. Prince Fielder, Leonys Martin, and Elvis Andrus each had two hits as the Rangers scored three runs on eight hits. Starting pitcher Colby Lewis allowed three hits and a run while striking out four over 6.0 innings to get the win and Neftali Feliz earned the save. For Wednesday’s game the Rangers start Ross Detweiler, the former Washington National, who makes his first start for the Rangers. Last season Detweiler was 2-3 with a 4.00 ERA striking out 39 over 63 innings.

Oakland is 2-10 against a left-handed starter, 2-7 in game three of a series, and 21-7 in Kazmir’s last 28 starts as a favorite. Texas is 14-4 in their last 18 games, 6-2 in their last eight road games, and 6-2 in their last eight games as a road underdog. Texas is 8-3 in their last 11 games in Oakland.

This is a big number but I like the A’s here to get it done with Kazmir.
