The Texas Rangers and the Los Angeles Angels face off on Wednesday in Arlington for game three of their AL West MLB series.
The Texas Rangers dropped game one of their series to the Angels on Monday but they bounced back on Tuesday getting the win. Elvis Andrus had two hits including a home run, Robinson Chirinos hit a home run, and Prince Fielder added two hits as the Rangers scored eight runs on 11 hits. Starting pitcher Nicholas Martinez allowed five hits and a run while striking out one over 7.0 innings to get the win to go to 2-0 for the season. For Wednesday’s game the Rangers start Anthony Ranaudo who was 4-3 with a 4.81 ERA last season with the Red Sox.

The Los Angles Angels early season struggles continued on Tuesday as they lost to the Rangers to fall to 3-5 for the season. Chris Iannetta had two hits and Mike Trout and Erick Aybar each had hits as the Angels scored two runs on seven hits. Starting pitcher Drew Rucinski allowed six hits and four runs lasting just 2.2 innings to take the loss. For Wednesday’s game the Angels start Hector Santiago who allowed six hits and three runs while striking out four over 5.1 innings to take the loss on his first start of the year facing the Royals.
Texas is 5-2 in game three of a series, 9-18 against a team with a losing record, and 2-4 in their last six home games. Los Angeles is 17-8 in game three of a series, 3-11 in their last 14 games, and 2-5 in Santiago’s last seven starts following a team loss. Los Angles is 10-2 in their last 12 games in Texas.
I don’t love either of my options here but I have to go with the Angels to bounce back as I have less faith in Ranaudo.
