The Line: Boston Red Sox -130 / Baltimore Orioles +120 --- Over/Under: 9 See the Latest Odds

The Baltimore Orioles travel to Fenway Park to battle the Boston Red Sox for the first time in 2015.

The Baltimore Orioles have won two in a row and are hoping to go on a long hot streak to position themselves atop the American League East. The Orioles are coming in off of a 7-5 win over the Yankees where a five spot in the 5th did most of the damage. Starter Bud Norris gave up three runs on five hits and a pair of BB over five frames with Zach Britton charged with two more in the 8th. The offense saved the day with a 15 hit, four walk attack that featured a triple and three RBI’s from Chris Davis while Manny Machado and Jonathan Schoop cracked solo homers.Baltimore hands the ball to Ubaldo Jimenez to open the series at Fenway Park. Jimenez was outstanding the first time out in a 7-1 victory against the Blue Jays with a one hit shutout over seven frames with eight strikeouts.

Boston Red Sox vs. Baltimore Orioles - 4/17/15 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Boston Red Sox have bounced back from an uncharacteristic 2014 to a nice 6-3 start. The Red Sox took two of three from visiting Washington this week but were denied the sweep in Wednesday’s 10-5 defeat with the work on the mound struggling to help out the bats. Wade Miley was hit hard with seven runs plated on five hits and three BB over 2.1 frames with Anthony Varvaro and Robbie Ross giving up three runs through 5.1 innings. That was too much for the offense to compete with on just seven hits and a pair of bases on balls. Hanley Ramirez connected on a two run blast with Shane Victorino recording an RBI and scoring while Mike Napoli crossed the plate twice. Joe Kelley toes the rubber for the second time when he matches up with the visiting Orioles. Kelley was dominant in an 8-4 win against the Yankees with a run allowed on a hit and two BB while whiffing eight over seven innings of work.

The over is 8-2 in the Orioles last 10 games following a win while the under is 19-7-1 in their last 27 Friday games and is 28-11 in their last 39 road games. The over is 19-6-1 in Boston’s last 26 overall and 19-6-1 in their last 26 on grass while the Red Sox are 7-16 in their last 23 home games. Head to head Baltimore are 6-2 in the last 8 meetings. This one depends on how Jimenez does in my view but I worry about his consistency as a fan…
