Coors Field and the Colorado Rockies play host to the San Diego Padres in Monday night action.

So far the changes the San Diego Padres made to the roster have been paying dividends but whether the winning continues over the long term is an unknown. The Padres have won seven of nine after spotting the Cubs a 2-0 lead in the first before rallying to a 5-2 victory. Starter Andrew Cashner allowed a pair of unearned runs on five hits and two free passes over six frames to improve to 1-2. The bats put together a 10 hit, two walk attack featured two run homers off the bats of Yangervis Solarte and Will Middlebrooks. Odrisamer Despaigne get the starting assignment against the Colorado Rockies. Despaigne was outstanding in a 2-1 victory versus the Diamondbacks with the lone run allowed on two hits and a pair of BB in seven frames.

Colorado Rockies vs. San Diego Padres - 4/20/15 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

If I were a Colorado fan now is about the time to become concerned as they have been starting to fade a bit and when this team began to fade in 2014 they fell extremely hard. The Rockies struggled in most areas of a 7-0 loss at Los Angeles on Sunday. Starter Eddie Butler did hang tough with a pair of runs allowed on six hits through five frames before Scott Oberg came on and gave up five runs (three earned) in 1/3 of an inning which put the game out of reach. The Rockies totaled four hits and three bases on balls with Charlie Blackmon going 2-3 with a walk.Colorado turns to Jorge De La Rosa in Monday’s outing against visiting San Diego. He  left hander made 32 starts a season ago with a 14-11 record on a 4.10 ERA covering 184.1 innings of work.

San Diego are 6-2 in their last 8 overall and 6-2 in their last 8 games on grass while going 19-40 in their last 59 road games. Colorado are 11-1 in their last 12 games as a favorite and 11-3 in their last 14 home games while going 4-12 in their last 16 home games. Head to head the Rockies are 15-2 in De La Rosa’s last 17 starts versus San Diego. The Padres are 5-16 in the last 21 meetings in Colorado. Despaigne struggles on the road and De La Rosa is good at home so maybe the Rockies get one here…
