The San Francisco lock horns with the NL West leading Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium.
The San Francisco Giants look nothing like the world champions they are even though the season is still young. The Giants knocked off National League West rival Los Angeles 2-1 on Tuesday as they try to dig themselves out of an early hole. This game was all about left hander Madison Bumgarner who was outstanding with the lone run scored on five hits over eight frames to up his record to 2-1. The offense posted ten hits and walked twice with Buster Posey slamming his third homer and driving in both runs. San Francisco gives Wednesday’s starting assignment to Ryan Vogelsong who faces the Dodgers in back to back outings. Vogelsong was strong in a 3-2 victory with a pair of solo homers served up in six frames.

The Los Angeles Dodgers seemed to be primed to capture another National League West crown although San Francisco has been giving them fits right now. Even defending Cy Young award winner Clayton Kershaw couldn’t save his team Tuesday although his pitching was outstanding. Kershaw allowed both runs on seven hits and struck out eight through seven innings to fall to 1-2. The Los Angeles offense simply did not give their ace enough to work with on five hits and a base on balls while striking out ten times. Howie Kendrick drove in Jimmy Rollins with the only run while Enrique Hernandez was 2-4 with a double. Zack Greinke toes the rubber in the final game of the series with San Francisco. Greinke will be shooting for his 4th win after defeating San Diego 3-0 on the road with seven scoreless innings.
San Francisco are 22-8 in their last 30 Wednesday games and are 5-11 in their last 16 overall while going 5-11 in their last 16 games on grass. The over is 22-7-1 in the Dodgers last 30 home games and the under is 10-4 in their last 14 Wednesday games while the Dodgers are 10-4 in their last 14 overall. For some reason Vogelsong has thrown the ball well in this match up. I’ll go with Greinke and the Dodgers who need a win bad but I won’t lay the juice…
