The Chicago White Sox open a series at Target Field with the Minnesota Twins on Thursday.

After two days of postponements the Chicago White Sox probable wished they were postponed Wednesday after getting blasted 8-2. Starter Jeff Samardzija had nothing going for him as he was tagged eight runs with six scoring in the first. Overall Samardzija allowed ten hits and walked one with two homers surrendered over five frames which dropped him to 1-2. The bats didn’t provide much support with four hits and a free pass with Geovany Soto driving in a run  while Avisail Garcia went 2-3 with a run. The White Sox send ace left hander Chris Sale to the bump to face Minnesota for the second time in 2015. Sale did not get a decision in a 3-2 loss to Kansas City where he allowed two runs on nine hits in seven frames.

The Minnesota Twins need to get the most out of both their arms and bats to win because neither is strong enough to win on their lonesome. The Twins pitching failed them Wednesday and the bats couldn’t keep up with the heavy hitting Tigers in a 10-7 defeat. Starter Phil Hughes gave up three runs on seven hits through five frames before Tim Stauffer and Caleb Thielbar allowed three runs apiece in a combined 1.2 frames. The offense racked up 13 hits with Trevor Plouffe and  Oswaldo Arcia connecting on homers and combining for five runs knocked in. Joe Mauer followed with two RBI’s and two runs with Brian Dozier also scoring twice.Minnesota goes with Trevor May on the hill to oppose the White Sox on Thursday. May did not get a decision in an 8-5 victory at Seattle with a pair of runs scored on three hits and a BB over 3.1 innings.

The White Sox  are 5-16 in their last 21 Thursday games and are 7-19 in their last 26 road games. The over is 20-6-1 in Minnesota’s last 27 home games and is 10-2 in May’s last 12 starts on grass while the over is 10-2 in May’s last 12 starts overall. The over is 9-2 in the last eleven meetings. High juice on the White Sox but with Sale on the hill I’ll back them…
