The Boston Red Sox hope to avoid getting swept by the New York Yankees on Sunday Night Baseball.
The American League East leading New York Yankees continue play great baseball with a 4-2 victory at Fenway Park on Saturday afternoon. The Yankees have now won eight of ten and go for the series sweep Sunday. Starter Nathan Eovaldi allowed both runs on seven hits and a walk over 6.2 frames to up his record to 2-0. The Bronx bombers totaled nine hits with Brett Gardner going 2-4 with three runs driven in while Chris Young slammed his 6th homer in the 8th for some insurance. The Yankees give the ball to Adam Warren who faces the New York Yankees for the second time in 2015. Warren was at his best in a 4-1 victory versus Tampa Bay with the lone run scored on five hits in 5.2 frames.

The Boston Red Sox need to regroup as they are beginning to look as they did in 2014. Following Saturday’s defeat the Red Sox have dropped seven of eleven with their offense wasting a strong outing from Wade Miley Saturday. Miley allowed three runs on seven hits through seven innings to fall to 1-3 on the year. The bats had a few opportunities on an eight hit, two walk attack but could not get key hits with men on base. Mookie Betts doubled in Blake Swihart and Dustin Pedroia smacked his 5th homer of the young season. The Red Sox are looking for a rebound from Joe Kelly when he opposes the Yankees Sunday. Kelly has struggled the last two times out with 12 runs and 13 hits covering eleven innings pitched.
The Yankees are 8-2 in their last 10 overall and 8-2 in their last 10 on grass. The over is 19-7 in Boston’s last 26 on grass and 7-3 in Kelly’s last 10 starts on grass. The Red Sox to avoid the sweep is my thinking with a slight edge on the hill....
