The Seattle Mariners finally got the bats going on Tuesday but in the end they still ended up on the short side of the scoreboard. Robinson Cano and Logan Morrison each had three hits and Mike Zunino had two hits as the Mariners scored four runs on nine hits. Starting pitcher James Paxton allowed four hits and two runs while striking out four over 7.0 innings to not get a decision as Dominic Leone took the loss. For Wednesday’s game the Mariners start Roenis Elias who has allowed 12 hits and five runs while striking out 14 over 11.2 innings for a 0-1 record and a 3.86 ERA.
Los Angeles is 5-1 as a home favorite, 1-4 in game three of a series, and 13-3 in Wilson’s last 16 home starts. Seattle is 4-1 against a team with a losing record, 2-9 as a road underdog, and 2-6 in Elias’ last eight starts. Seattle is 27-56 in their last 83games in LA.
Neither of these teams have been consistent but with Seattle’s light hitting it is just tough to take them in this spot.
