The Toronto Blue Jays host the Boston Red Sox in game two of their series at the Rogers Centre.
The Boston Red Sox have yet to find the groove in the early going and took a step back in the series opener at Toronto. The Red Sox struggled on the mound and at the plate in a 7-0 defeat on Friday night. Wade Miley took the loss with four runs allowed on eight hits including a pair of homers in six frames while Robbie Ross allowed three runs without recording an out. The bats were held to two hits and five bases on balls with Mookie Betts and Dustin Pedroia rapping singles. The Red Sox send Joe Kelly to the bump versus Toronto on Saturday. Kelly has been struggling over his last three outings where he has allowed 15 runs on 22 hits covering 15.2 frames.

The Toronto Blue Jays have had problems stringing the wins together but perhaps a hot streak is in the making after Friday’s 7-0 victory was their second straight. Starter Aaron Sanchez overcame control issues to improve to 3-2 with two hits and five BB over seven scoreless innings. The Blue Jays totaled 12 hits and walked once with Josh Donaldson and Chris Colabello slamming long balls while Ezequiel Carrera singled in two. Edwin Encarnacion and Russell Martin score twice with seven starters scoring or knocking in runs. The Blue Jays give the ball to Drew Hutchison for game two of their series with the Red Sox. Hutchison has been hit hard the last two times out with 12 runs given up on 17 hits and six BB over 8.1 innings.
The over is 8-2 in Boston’s last 10 road games and is 8-2 in their last 10 games as an underdog while the Red Sox are 4-10 in their last 14 Saturday games. Toronto are 9-3 in their last 12 Saturday games. I really am not in love with either hurler so I’d probably go over given their latest struggles…
