The Toronto Blue Jays pay a visit to Camden Yards to take the field with AL East foe the Baltimore Orioles.
The Toronto Blue Jays seemed ready to go on a run and perhaps make a stab at first place New York but a 6-3 defeat against Boston on Sunday prevented a sweep of their division rivals. Neither the arms or bats stood out with starter RA Dickey giving up four in the first. Dickey gave up all six runs on seven hits including two homers over six frames to fall to 1-4. The offense produced eight hits and walked four times with Devon Travis knocking in a run and scoring while Chris Colabello going 3-4 with an RBI. The Blue Jays send Marco Estrada to the hill for his second start of 2015 and first ever against Baltimore. Estrada struggled the first time out in a 6-3 loss to the Yankees with five runs given up on eight hits over 4.2 frames.

The Baltimore Orioles have yet to show the form that they showed in 2014 where they captured the American League East crown. A day after throttling the Yankees the Orioles were on the receiving end in a 6-2 defeat with both the pitching and offense struggling. Starter Bud Norris continued to struggle with four runs plated on six hits and a trio of free passes through 3.1 innings that dropped him to 1-4 on the year. The Orioles mustered eight hits but struck out 18 times with all but one starter whiffing. JJ Hardy slammed his first homer and Adam Jones singled in Jimmy Paredes but the bats were silent otherwise. The Orioles are scheduled to begin the series with Toronto with Ubaldo Jimenez on the hill. Jimenez hopes to rebound from a 5-1 defeat at Citi Field where he was charged with three runs on six hits and two BB over four innings.
The over is 9-2-1 in Toronto’s last 12 on grass and the under is 6-2 in their last 8 Monday games while the over is 10-4-1 in the Blue Jays last 15 road games. The under is 6-1-2 in Baltimore’s last 9 overall and the over is 12-4-1 in their last 17 home games while the Orioles are 11-4 in their last 15 Monday games. Pretty simple here as Baltimore should be in good shape if Jimenez throws well…
