The Kansas City Royals had a late night on Sunday and we saw it carry over into their subpar performance on Monday losing in Texas. Alcides Escobar had two hits and Eric Hosmer and Kendrys Morales had hits as the Royals scored two runs on five hits. Starting pitcher Danny Duffy allowed five hits and six runs lasting just 3.2 innings to take the loss. For Tuesday’s game the Royals start Edinson Volquez who has allowed 26 hits and 11 earned runs while striking out 30 over 37.1 innings for a 2-3 record and a 2.65 ERA.
Texas is 7-2 in their last nine games, 17-36 in game two of a series, and 6-0 in Martinez’s last six starts. Kansas City is 21-7 against the AL West, 10-4 in game two of a series, and 43-22 as a road favorite. Kansas City is 6-15 in their last 21 games in Texas.
The total is set at 8.5 but for this one my play is the under. My stronger play is on the winning side and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
