The Baltimore Orioles look to go on a hot streak beginning with the final game of their series with the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Toronto Blue Jays are in the middle of the pack in the American League East but area hot streak away from challenging New York for the top spot. The Blue Jays took a step towards their goal with a 10-2 rout of Baltimore. Everything was clicking with lefty Mark Buehrle allowing both runs on four hits over six frames to improve to 5-2. The bats totaled ten hits and walked twice with Edwin Encarnacion going deep with three RBI’s and three runs while Josh Donaldson homered and drove in three more runs and scored twice. Rookie Aaron Sanchez makes his 7th career start and third versus the Baltimore Orioles. Sanchez is coming off of his best start of the season with a two hit shutout and five bases on balls over seven frames in seven frames.

No panic buttons are being pushed yet for the Baltimore Orioles who are struggling to reach .500. The Orioles went in the opposite direction Tuesday where both the offense and pitching never got going. Chris Tillman has not been throwing well and that trend continued with five runs scored on nine hits through 6.2 innings while TJ McFarland was charged with four unearned runs. The offense was unable to keep the team competitive on five hits and a base on balls with Jimmy Paredes singling in both runs. The Orioles go with Miguel Gonzalez on the hill in the series finale’ versus the Blue Jays. Gonzalez suffered through his worse outing of 2015 last time out in a 5-4 loss against the Yankees where he allowed all five runs in four innings.
The over is 9-3-1 in Toronto’s last 13 on grass while the Blue Jays are 11-4 in their last 15 Wednesday games and are 3-8 in their last 11 road games. The under is 7-1-2 in Baltimore’s last 10 overall and is 12-4-1 in their last 17 Wednesday games while the Orioles are 42-17 in their last 59 home games. The under is 13-6-1 in the last 20 meetings. I’m hoping for a bounce back from Miguel Gonzalez with the bats doing some damage against walk prone Sanchez…
