The Cleveland Indians look for back to back victories against the St Louis Cardinals Thursday.

Not too much has gone wrong for the St Louis Cardinals in 2015 as defeats have been few. The Cardinals suffered a rare setback in Wednesday’s 2-0 loss where the bats couldn’t support strong work on the mound from John Lackey. Lackey allowed both runs on five hits and five BB over 5.1 frames with a pair of relievers tossing scoreless baseball over 2.2 innings. When I say the offense did nothing I mean they managed a Jhonny Peralta single and nothing else. The Cardinals turn to unbeaten Michael Wacha in the final game of the series on Thursday. Wacha was outstanding in an 8-5 win at Pittsburgh where he allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits in six frames.

Cleveland Indians vs. St. Louis Cardinals - 5/14/15 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Cleveland Indians are the exact opposite of the Cardinals in that very little has gone their way. Defending Cy Young award winner Corey Kluber was one of the reasons for a poor start with five straight defeats to kick off the season. The losing came to a halt Wednesday with Kluber tossing a one hit shutout through eight innings while recording a whopping 18 strikeouts. The Indians offense produced seven hits and walked six times with Brandon Moss going 3-4 with an RBI while David Murphy cracked a run scoring single. The Indians are hoping Trevor Bauer bounces back from a pair of poor outings when he opposes the Cardinals for the first time in his career. Bauer has given up a combined 12 runs on 16 hits over 9.1 innings.

The under is 8-2 in the Cardinals last 10 Thursday games while the Cardinals are are 20-6 in their last 26 overall and  20-6 in their last 26 games on grass. The over is 8-2 in Cleveland’s last 10 games as an underdog while the over is 16-5 in their last 21 overall and  is 16-5 in their last 21 on grass. The Cardinals have a struggling young hurler to face after getting one hit. Need I go further…
