The Cleveland Indians will be looking to string the wins together when they face the Texas Rangers on Friday.
The Cleveland Indians will be looking to get back in the win column when they visit Texas Friday. The Indians were riding another shutdown performance on the mound before the bullpen let the Cardinals off the hook in a 2-1 loss on Thursday. Trevor Bauer had tossed a shutout for 7.1 frames and struck out ten before getting the hook after issuing a one out walk in the 8th. Marc Rzepczynki served up a two run jack to blow the save and absorb the loss. The Tribe produced eight hits and walked three times with Michael Brantley’s solo bomb in the 6th being the lone source of offense. Veteran lefty Bruce Chen makes his second start of 2015 with both coming against Minnesota. Chen was on the losing end of a 7-4 defeat to the Twins with six runs scored on ten hits in four frames.

The Texas Rangers are not going to win the American League West but they have shown some backbone over the past few weeks and are a dangerous squad. The Rangers still need to squeeze the best out off their arms and bats to win as much as possible and that didn’t happen in Thursday’s 6-3 defeat at the hands of visiting Kansas City. The pitching didn’t hold up versus the Royals with Ross Detwiler allowing three runs on nine hits through five frames with Anthony Bass charged with two more in 1/3 of an inning. A seven hit, three walk attack wasn’t enough to keep up on the scoreboard with Delino DeShields Jr. going 1-2 with an RBI and run while walking twice. Left hander Wandy Rodriguez looks to stay hot when he opposes Cleveland for the first time in his career. Rodriguez g=has allowed just a single run in each of his last two outings on a combined five hits in 14 innings.
The over is 14-2 in Cleveland’s last 16 overall and is 14-2 in their last 16 on grass while going 8-2 in the Indians last 10 games as an underdog. The over is 6-2 in Texas last 8 overall while the Rangers are 4-11 in their last 15 games as a favorite and 7-3 in their last 10 overall. Cleveland are 11-1 in the last 12 meetings and the over is 19-9-3 in the last 31 meetings in Texas. This could be a big mistake because I tend to brush off Chen but the Rangers aren’t trash…
