The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Colorado Rockies face off on Saturday at Dodger Stadium for game three of their MLB series of NL West teams.
The Los Angeles Dodgers lost their series opener to the Rockies on Thursday but bounced back with the win on Friday. Jimmy Rollins had four hits including a home run, Howie Kendrick had three hits, and Justin Turner and Andre Ethier each had two hits as the Dodgers scored six runs on 12 hits. Starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw allowed four hits and three runs while striking out 10 over 6.2 innings to get the win and go to 2-2 while Juan Nicasio earned his first save. For Saturday’s game the Dodgers start Zack Greinke who has allowed 31 hits and eight earned runs while striking out 39 over 47.1 innings for a 5-0 record and 1.52 ERA.

The Colorado Rockies ended their 11 game losing streak with a win on Thursday but they started a new one losing on Friday. Charlie Blackmon had three hits, Daniel Descalso had two hits, and Carlos Gonzalez had a hit as the Rockies scored four runs on eight hits. Starting pitcher Eddie Butler allowed six hits and four runs, three earned, while striking out one over 2.2 innings to take the loss and fall to 2-4 for the season. For Saturday’s game the Rockies start Jorge De La Rosa who has allowed 23 hits and 17 earned runs while striking out 23 over 16 innings for an 0-2 record and 9.56 ERA.
Los Angeles is 5-1 in Saturday games, 7-2 in their last nine games, and 28-7 in Greinke’s last 35 starts. Colorado is 8-21 in their last 29 games, 14-51 in their last 65 road games, and 1-5 in De La Rosa’s last six starts as an underdog. Colorado is 20-42 in their last 62 games in Los Angeles.
Greinke and the Dodgers are a huge favorite here and rightfully so and while there isn’t a ton of value the Dodgers are the play.
