The Miami Marlins look to right the ship when they take the field with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Arizona Diamondbacks are simply trying to keep their head’s above water right now and avoid becoming an afterthought in the National League West. The Diamondbacks have done just that with consecutive victories following a 4-2 victory at Miami on Tuesday night. Starter Jeremy Hellickson gave up both runs on four hits over six frames but did not figure in the decision. The bats did their damage on nine hits and a pair of walks with AJ Pollock slugging a two run bomb while Nick Ahmed went 2-3 with an RBI with Yasmany Tomas going 2-3 with a run. The Diamondbacks turn to Chase Anderson on the bump in Wednesday’s tilt at Miami. Anderson has nothing to show for his last three outings where he has given up just two runs over 18.1 frames.

The Miami Marlins are in the same boat as their counterparts as they try to survive a slow start in 2015. The Marlins couldn’t turn things around with loss number five in a row as the defense and hitting struggled. Tom Koehler gave up a pair of unearned runs through five innings for a no decision before Mike Dunn served up a two run bomb to take the loss and fall to 0-3. The Fish totaled six hits and a pair of bases on balls with Giancarlo Stanton cracking a two run homer for his 12 long ball of the season. David Phelps looks to continue his torrid pitching when he opposes the Diamondbacks for the first time in his career. Phelps has allowed just seven runs on the season in 36 innings.
Arizona are 18-41 in their last 59 road games and the under is 10-3 in the last 13 meetings. Both guys have been outstanding and I’d be tempted by the under although I’m not 100% confident in anything involving these two teams…
