The Cleveland Indians beat the Mariners on Saturday for their third win in four games. Jerry Sands hit a home run and Mike Aviles and Michael Brantley each had hits as the Indians scored four runs on six hits. Starting pitcher Shaun Marcum allowed five hits and two runs while striking out five over 5.1 innings to get the win and go to 2-0 for the season and Cody Allen earned his 11th save. For Sunday’s game the Indians start Danny Salazar who has allowed 44 hits and 20 earned runs while striking out 66 over 49.1 innings for a 5-1 record and a 3.65 ERA.
Seattle is 4-1 as a favorite, 6-0 following a loss, and 4-1 in Happ’s last five starts as a favorite. Cleveland is 5-1 in their last six road games, 9-3 in their last 12 games, and 6-2 in Salazar’s last eight starts.
This game looks tight but expect the Mariners to get the win here and finish off the series even.
