The St Louis Cardinals are the team to beat in the National League Central and have not hurt themselves over the last week. Starter Carlos Martinez tossed a one hit shutout over seven frames and struck out eight to up his record to 5-2. The Redbirds offense did their damage on eight hits and five walks with Jhonny Peralta going 2-3 with a homer and three RBI’s.
