The Los Angeles Angels and the Tampa Bay Rays face off on Tuesday in Anaheim for game two of their MLB series.
The Los Angeles Angels got their series with the Rays started with a win on Monday. Albert Pujols hit two home runs and Mike Trout and David Freese each hit home runs as the Angels scored seven runs on 11 hits. Starting pitcher Garrett Richards allowed six hits and three runs while striking out four over 6.0 innings to get the win and go to 5-3 for the season. For Tuesday’s game the Angels start C.J. Wilson who has allowed 56 hits and 23 earned runs while striking out 49 over 65 innings for a 3-3 record and a 3.18 ERA.

The Tampa Bay Rays simply didn’t get it done on Monday as they fell to the Angels in Anaheim. Nick Franklin hit a home run, Kevin Kiermaier had two hits, and Evan Longoria had a hit as the Rays scored three runs on six hits. Starting pitcher Alex Colome allowed nine hits and five runs while striking out five to take the loss and fall to 3-2 for the season. For Tuesday’s game the Rays start Chris Archer who has allowed 47 hits and 16 runs while striking out 82 over 68 innings for a 5-4 record and a 2.12 ERA.
Los Angeles is 6-0 in their last six games, 9-3 in game two of a series, and 20-8 in Wilson’s last 28 home starts. The Rays are 2-8 in their last 10 games, 1-6 following a loss, and 11-2 in Archer’s last 13 road starts. Tampa Bay is 1-6 in their last seven meetings with Los Angeles.
