The Baltimore Orioles are looking to leave Minute Maid Park with a win against the Houston Astros Thursday.
The Baltimore Orioles are trying to get the ship righted and are looking for the ever elusive consistency and have not found it. The ship is still going in the wrong direction after a 3-1 loss at Houston being number four in a row. Starter Miguel Gonzalez was a tough luck loser with all three runs plated on three solo homers given up over 6.2 frames. The Oriole managed just three hits with Delmon Young driving in Adam Jones with the lone run. Lefty Wei-Yin Chen faces the Astros for the second time this season. Chen did not receive a decision in a 4-3 win versus Houston with all three runs plated on eleven hits over five innings.

The Houston Astros have responded well each time they appear to be faltering which is why they are tops in the American League West. The Astros won number three in a row behind an outstanding performance on the mound. Starter Lance McCullers four hit complete game with eleven strikeouts. The Stros totaled four hits with the long ball providing the offense with Chris Carter going deep twice with George Springer also going solo. Lefty Dallas Keuchel looks for consecutive victories when he faces Baltimore Thursday. Keuchel dominated the White Sox 3-0 with a complete game four hitter while striking out eleven.
The over is 7-2 in Baltimore’s last 9 Thursday games and the Orioles are 8-20 in their last 28 road games while the under is 38-17-2 in their last 57 road games. Houston are 10-3 in their last 13 home games and the under is 6-2-1 in their last 9 games as a favorite while going 6-2 in their last 8 Thursday games. The under is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings. I’m an Orioles fan and I hope they win but Houston hasn’t been a good match up for them…
