The Philadelphia Phillies tangle with the Cincinnati Reds in game two of their series on Wednesday.

The Cincinnati Reds have been in need of a prolonged hot streak with St Louis getting further and further away in the National League Central. The Reds seemed to be heating up with wins in four of five before blowing a 4-1 lead in a 5-4 loss at Philadelphia. This team is absolutely no help with Johnny Cueto on the bump as he gave up two runs (one earned before Jose Rafael Diaz served up a two run bomb with Tony Cingrani allowing a 9th inning run for the loss. The offense rapped out ten hits and walked twice with Joey Votto going 2-5 with two RBI’s while Zack Cozart was 2-4 with a run and RBI. Cincinnati goes with Mike Leake on the mound in the second game of their series at Philadelphia. Leake has struggled the past three times out with a combined 20 runs plated on 27 hits including six homers over 14 frames

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Cincinnati Reds - 6/3/15 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Philadelphia Phillies need to begin winning soon or risk getting buried in the National League East. The Phillies surprised a surging Cincinnati squad Tuesday with a big rally to end their seven game slide. Starter Sean O’Sullivan was charged with all four runs on nine hits and a base on balls through 5.2 frames before four relievers shutdown the Reds attack. The Phils attack managed nine hits with Maikel Franco going deep with two runs driven in and two scored while Chase Utley went 3-4 with a solo jack. The Phillies turn to ace Cole Hamels to control the suddenly hot Cincinnati offense. Hamels was a tough luck loser last time out with two runs allowed on a pair of solo homers over eight innings in a 4-1 loss to Colorado.

Cincinnati are 2-8 in their last 10 games as an underdog and are 17-45 in their last 62 road games while going  2-8 in Leake’s last 10 road starts. Philadelphia are 1-7 in their last 8 games as a favorite and the under is 5-1-3 in their last 9 Wednesday games while going 19-7-3 in their last 29 games as a favorite. Philadelphia are 13-0 in Hamels' last 13 starts vs. Cincinnati while the Reds are 11-23 in the last 34 meetings. Given Hamels success versus the Reds I’ll back Philadelphia…
