The Texas Rangers and the Minnesota Twins face off on Saturday at Globe Life Ballpark in Arlington in game two of their MLB series.
The Texas Rangers trailed early against the Twins on Friday but they rallied late and beat the Twins in game one of their series. Elvis Andrus had two hits including a home run and Prince Fielder and Delino DeShields Jr. each had hits as the Rangers scored six runs on five hits. Starting pitcher Wandy Rodriguez allowed three hits and a run while striking out six over 6.2 innings to not get the decision as Tanner Scheppers blew the save but got win to go to 3-0 for the season. For Saturday’s game the Rangers start Colby Lewis who has allowed 75 hits and 36 earned runs while striking out 55 over 73.1 innings for a 5-3 record and a 4.42 ERA.

The Minnesota Twins were unable to hold a slim early lead as they took the loss against the Rangers on Friday. Brian Dozier hit a home run and Joe Mauer and Torii Hunter each had hits as the Twins scored two runs on five hits. Starting pitcher Tommy Milone allowed three hits and two runs while striking out eight over 7.0 innings to not get a decision as Ryan Pressly took the loss. For Saturday’s game the Twins start Mike Pelfrey who has allowed 63 hits and 17 earned runs while striking out 34 over 67 innings for a 5-2 record and a 2.28 ERA.
Texas is 6-1 in their last seven home games, 8-3 against the AL Central, and 1-5 in Lewis’ last six starts in game two of a series. Minnesota is 5-2 against the AL West, 1-6 in their last seven games, and 8-2 in Pelfrey’s last 10 starts. Minnesota is 1-5 in their last six games against Texas.
