The Chicago White Sox look to even their series with the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday night.
The Chicago White Sox have enough talent to beat any team but judging from their record they also can lose to any team. The White Sox fell for the 4th straight time in an 11-0 defeat at PNC Park on Monday. Rookie Carlos Rodon suffered through the worse start of his short career with seven runs plated on nine hits over 3.2 frames with Hector Noesi allowing three more. The White Sox received singles from Alexei Ramirez and Melky Cabrera and committed three errors as nothing went right. Left hander Jose Quintana shoots for his 4th consecutive quality start in game two of their series at Pittsburgh. Quintana comes off of a 4-1 win over Houston with the lone run plated on six hits in seven frames.

The Pittsburgh Pirates are surging and it is keeping them within shouting distance of the Cardinals in the National League Central. The Pirates continued to play well with Monday’s win being their 8th in eleven contests. Starter Francisco Liriano didn’t need any help with a two hit shutout through eight innings while striking out 12. The Buccos pounded out 18 hits with Josh Harrison and Starling Marte combining for eight hits, three RBI’s and five runs Jung-ho Kang and Francisco Cervelli knocked in four more and scored three. Charlie Morton looks for his 5th straight win when he faces the White Sox for the first time ever. Morton was at his best in a 2-0 victory against Milwaukee with a three hitter over 7.1 frames.
The under is 7-2 in Chicago’s last 9 Tuesday games and is 35-15-2 in Quintana’s last 52 on grass while the White Sox are 3-7 in Quintana’s last 10 road starts. The under is 9-0 in Pittsburgh’s last 9 home games while the Pirates are 15-3 in their last 18 games as a favorite and are 17-5 in their last 22 overall. Chicago are 8-1 in the last 9 meetings and the over is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings. I know Pittsburgh is the better team but I don’t know about the big chalk for Morton and would rather go small on the big plus money or walk away…
